Register a Veteran
National Veterans' Shrine and Register of Honor housed at the American Village in Monetvallo, Alabama.You can register veterans online at the Mildred B. Harrison Regional Library. We will assist you with text entry; scanning of up to 4 photographs per veteran; uploading of up to 4 photographsper veteran; creating an account user name and password; and printing the veteran profile document.For additional information email: firstname.lastname@example.org.

All books check out for 2 weeks. Each library has local policies and guidelines determined by their local library board; therefore, overdue fines and length of checkout periods for new or bestseller books, media items, and other non-print materials vary from library to library. Check with your local library to make sure you understand their loan policies.

Ask your local librarian about borrowing something from another library or simply fill out our online request form. Please be as specific as you can and include author, series, and/or edition information and specify if you require or prefer certain formats (i.e. large print, paperback only, cassette or cd, video or DVD). Please note that we cannot borrow titles published within the last 6 months.

Can’t Get to the Library?

Harrison Regional Library takes books to inmates at the Shelby County Jail every week. Should you like to send books to your friend or relative please stop by to give us paperback editions only with their inmate number and cell block number attached. Also, should you like to contribute books to the Shelby County Jail please bring your paperbacks to the Harrison Regional Library during regular operating hours.
